Title: What short-videos are helpful? Post by: BuddyH on December 02, 2020, 01:30:18 PM My BPD husband and I need some short videos to do together. And any other list of short actionable things we can do every day. He wants to do Wim Hoff ice baths if I will do it with him.
He doesn't read his BPD workbook or do his homework and because he travels so much for work, he finally got on the list for a 6-month twice a week BPD program but that won't start for 6 months (I've been telling him for 5 months to get on the list but he thought that they would just get him in the week after he called). I am hopeful to one day post our success story but it is hard to hang in there. For the first 14 years of our marriage I was codependent and he was never diagnosed (he was diagnosed with everything else under the sun but his work away from our home state didn't allow the therapist a continual experience with him). For the last 3 years, I have made significant progress in addressing my codependence, improving my empathy vs. just trying to fix everything, setting boundaries and self-care. It is so hard. When I don't give him what he wants he threatens things that are important to my kids and me all the time (says we are going to move, tells the kids they can get a dog and then takes that dream away, says he is going to leave, etc.). It is so hard to know what is the right thing to do without a partner who can help make adult decisions. And confusing for the kids to know when Dad is being a strict and loving Dad vs. "in his bad place." Title: Re: What short-videos are helpful?
