Title: Hello
Post by: mermaidsarereal on December 09, 2020, 12:22:51 PM
Hello,
I am a 51 year old daughter of a woman who I love dearly but who suffers with what seems very similar to BPD. My whole life she has struggled with persistent fears of abandonment. She rages uncontrollably and I would describe her as a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Normally sweet and loving but when triggered, she rages, insults, accuses, threatens suicide, etc. She has recently moved in with me following the death of my brother and is not suprisingly having a very hard time. I'm just looking for a supportive community to help her as well as help me and my family deal with her difficult behavior.

Hi mermaidsarereal :hi:

I am very sorry that you lost your brother. How was your relationship with him and how are you coping with this loss?

Unfortunately your mother has a history of exhibiting rather difficult behaviors. She is currently living with you and your family  I can imagine that makes it even harder for you. Has your mother ever received any kind of therapy or treatment for her issues?

You also mention her threatening suicide. Is this still an issue with her?

Take care and welcome to our online community
