Title: still confused
Post by: stillconfuzed on January 09, 2021, 08:31:43 AM
:hi: My partner and I were very close. He would do things like say yes we will go to the lake and swim and be very excited. And then go silent for  weeks. Never an explanation. Is this the BPD? I fear I cannot help him anymore and feel guilty

Hey stillconfuzed, Care-taking leads to an unhealthy dynamic, so I suggest you let go of your need to help him.  Why the guilt?  You haven't done anything wrong.  Suggest you let go of the guilt, too.

Hard to say it he suffers from BPD.

Stillconfused...yes,what Lucky Jim says as well...guilt won't help anyone in this situation...certainly not yourself, nor him for that matter I think...
