Title: My BPD daughter is pregnant
Post by: TRIFON on February 20, 2021, 08:31:47 AM

My daughter is 35 years old, she is doing fine in her life, with her daily writing and meditation.
She´s also with psychologist help every week.
But she is 2 months pregnant, we already had a big problem because she was blaming me for her feelings (she did not know she was with the baby) and she quit working with me (that was a relief for me) She has a good husband that is very supportive with her, he knows very well how to treat her, but I need to know how to deal with my pregnant daughter.
Also I want you to advice me because my son in law and I have never talked about BPD of my daughter and I do not know if I should talk to him about this, since she never let me talked to him about her bpd disorder.
I want to know how to help her and what to expect on this months coming, please advice.
Sorry my native language is spanish so maybe my english will not be good.
Thank you!

Hi TRIFON,
Welcomee,
A few more questions for you to think about:
~ Is her BPD causing problems within her marriage and your son in law is reaching out to you?
~Is your daughter asking you to help her tell her husband about her BPD?
Unless either situation is happening, I would be careful regarding talking about her BPD ,as your daughter is an adult .

You have stated she is doing fine in her life. Please don't fear the future.  Live and let be. Maybe the best way to help her is to find out more about BPD, and there is a library of suggested readings such as" Stop walking on Eggshells".
