Title: Difficulty with getting insurance info./coverage/specifics from ex Post by: 12years on March 24, 2021, 10:58:38 AM So, since last Fall, I had been having issues getting all the necessary info from the ex regarding insurance for the kids (and I was also covered until the end of last year, I was on it an additional 9 months). He eventually said that he "forgot" to check the box, like he "forgot" his kids (to be added to the insurance)! I can see how he may want to forget me, but, it's really unbelievable. Only he was on the coverage! He knew it was coming up, asked for the kids social security numbers, etc. So the kids and I for a month had no insurance - during COVID - and I almost blew a gasket. I was steaming mad but didn't let him know. He of course blamed it on the HR staff. But, eventually said he "didn't check the box." I know things get messed up but it's really He is to provide insurance for them and for the kids, and notify us of any changes. Along with this, his company created a new entity and he didn't notify child support of this either. As you can imagine, payments were missed and had to be made up, etc. I just wonder, is there anything I can do that doesn't involve a lawyer to get him to send me info related to their insurance. I also am supposed to be named the beneficiary on his life insurance. He has yet to provide me documentation of this! He is required to per the decree. Has anyone filed an injunction on their own? Is he in contempt?
It's the same PLEASE READ (https://bpdfamily.com/safe-site.htm) as when we were married, and he doesn't care. But it really should just be so goshdarn easy, really, check a box, kids get insurance, walla! And he sends over something that says I am on the life insurance. I really want to piss him off and "file something," but, I don't want to pay lawyers fees! And I know things get messed up, but, come on, really? And of course he blamed someone else for the mistake - at first. It's really the only connection we have, the kids, and let me tell you if we didn't have that I would never speak to him again. But, the insurance and the money to take care of them is important. I guess though he doesn't care about it, the insurance, so, that's why it falls through the cracks. I on the other hand, have had to deal with this nonsense, but, this time it was much worse (no coverage) and no money for several months. I guess I am not surprised, but, every Fall will it be the same thing when he signs up for benefits? Sometimes law librarians can be very helpful in matters like these.
