Title: Therapist rec?
Post by: IzWest on April 21, 2021, 05:19:38 PM
Hi all, this is my first post here. I'm just coming to the realization of an adult brother with BPD -- and it's been extremely difficult coming to terms with it and looking back on all the years and decades of living on an emotional rollercoaster. Reading about others' experiences here feels so much like my life -- and it's really devastating in many ways. I'm wondering if anyone has any therapist recommendations for Los Angeles (or elsewhere, since we live in a remote world now) of someone who has experience / expertise in helping family members of someone with BPD.

Thank you!

Dr. Christine Lawson is out in California, and while she keeps a relatively low-profile since writing one of the definitive books on Borderline Personality Disorder - she's still in practice and might be willing to give you a referral to who are the best resources, etc. Between that and https://www.dbtcenteroc.com/resources/family-connections/ these guys, you should be off to a rocking start.
