Title: First time post. Heartbroken for daughter
Post by: doug914 on April 28, 2021, 08:04:16 AM
My 15 year daughter has BPD traits. My ex wife has BPD.
I am so heart broken watching my daughter suffer and then constantly lash out at me. She daily communicated how much she despises me and absolutely will not take responsibility for any of her actions.
It feels like I have lost my daughter. She spends all day in her room.

I am sorry you are going through this.
I have an adult daughter who has BPD.
I remember the teenage years like it was yesterday.
So much drama, so much abuse.

I can tell you it may not get better until she is older.
I can also tell you we did not lay down strong enough boundaries at that age because we were terrified of her.
That set the tone for a lot of self abuse on her part. Drugs, running away, being promiscuous.

My daughter started DBT therapy a long time ago but at 33 finally seems to "get it".

I hope your road is not long and painful like ours, if it is just know you have support.
