I talked to another young woman who said that she had pulled her own hair out in response to BPD-related anxiety. I'm wondering how common that is. Thank you for responding.

Title: Re: Hair Falling Out? Post by: Orangesoda on May 11, 2021, 08:05:35 AM My BPD DIL has issues with hair falling out as well. She also pulls at her hair and picks at her face. She goes through periods where her eyebrows are non-existent and she'll draw them in.

Post by: Cait on June 06, 2021, 09:55:17 PM I haven't heard of BPD-related hair loss specifically, however, I do know that hair loss can be triggered (telogen effluvium) from intense stress, which I'm sure people with BPD suffer from. As another poster suggested, hair loss can also be triggered by certain medications, along with eating disorders (not enough nutrients for hair growth) which I do know are more common among people with BPD. So it wouldn't be surprising at all to hear about someone with BPD experiencing hair loss.
