Truthfully, traffic tends to pick up when members engage each other more, especially welcoming newbies. We've also always had a lot of lurkers who are hesitant to de-cloak. It helps to welcome new pups in crisis. I remember that well when I first landed here, very wounded. Then I migrated to PSI when I found out my mother was BPD. Title: Re: Time foe a pledge drive? Post by: PearlsBefore on May 14, 2021, 11:39:52 PM Honestly if it had better privacy/security features like allowing me to modify/delete my old posts, or hashing passwords instead of storing plaintext (not sure if they still do that one? haven't tested recently), or hiding what hours of the day I'm online versus at work over the past year from anyone who registers an account to look at my profile, then I'd pull out the credit card and donate.
Until then, no. Title: Re: Time foe a pledge drive? Post by: khibomsis on May 19, 2021, 06:40:45 AM Thank you Rex! In the past moderators have often shared why the site was down and that helped a lot to ease anxieties. Certainly gratitude is due for this place, to which I also came broken. At least I make it through the day these days.
I hesitated for a long time to give because I earn in African currency that would barely buy chewing gum in the US. So I tried to give sweat equity instead, some set time each day unless work is crazy or I'm emotionally overwhelmed. But this discussion has made me see it is not about the amount but the commitment to giving. So I will pledge my mite :) |
