Title: How to help someone see they are sick
Post by: Mel_wny on May 20, 2021, 12:29:29 AM
 :help:
 :caution:
Where to start? During my journey and acceptance of my mental illness,  I also realized that my boyfriend, who supports my path of getting better,   is also sick. He clicks off all the boxes. I have gently and briefly tried to approach him about some of his symptoms but he thinks he's ok. Neither of us are saints but I love him enough to try my hardest to stick by him but it's so bad not only emotionally but physically as well. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Welcome to the website Mel.

As you probably know working towards better mental health and better relationships is a process.     It's something that evolves slowly over time.

What has been observed to help with success is:
  • a highly validating environment
  • a well grounded and emotionally strong support team
  • advanced communication skills

how long have you and your boyfriend been together?   do you feel up to saying more about what's going on?    how is it emotionally and physically bad right now?
