Title: Is anyone actually in a successful and happy relationship with a BPD? Post by: Breakingpoint13 on May 30, 2021, 11:00:47 PM The burning question... I just don’t think we ever hear of the success stories, and I feel if there’s not many it may help us all understand that it’s not us that are to fully blame a lot more?

They have certain things in common, not least that the pwBPD accepts the diagnosis and is actively working to improve for their own sake, not to save the relationship. And that the non works on themselves for the same reason. Me, I think the key to detachment is accepting that I have to change. No fault seeking, indeed I think we are far too prone to beat up on ourselves. Merely accepting that this thing is bigger than us, we can't control it. But we can control ourselves. So I work on my boundaries, day after day it gets better. Title: Re: Is anyone actually in a successful and happy relationship with a BPD? I am just really struggling with the detachment and reading everything on here helps me to accept there is not much future, not one I have the strength to deal with, with my my ex anyway: Not that it even matters he cutrently hates me right now, and I am the ill one and one to blame. |
