We believe our daughter struggles with BPD.  She is 18 and has been diagnosed with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and attachment issues (she was born in China and came home to our family at 11 months.  She has not been diagnosed with BPD, although I think that I remember one of her pediatric psychiatrists mentioned that the diagnosis might be a possibility as she got older.

She graduated from high school last month.  She barely finished enough work to get her diploma.  We had a short grace period after graduation (about 1 week) and then things began to escalate again as the reality of being an adult becomes more real.

My husband and I feel very isolated, frustrated, scared, worried, etc.  Having a place where others are experiencing/have experienced the many of the same things should be helpful.

Thank you,
Cara Rue

Thank you for joining us.  You will find you are not alone here. Is she accepting of her diagnoses and is she still going to therapy?

My daughter is 17 and she hasn’t been officially diagnosed with BPD but she has displays all the traits. Hang in there. Make sure you have someone to talk to as well, it really helps.
