Title: Disassociation and drug therapy
Post by: Kai1864 on June 15, 2021, 11:49:16 PM
Hello. I am completely new here. I have an 18 year old daughter recently diagnosed with borderline. She has frequent episodes of disassociation where she feels like she’s looking though a camera lens at someone else’s life. She’s unmedicated by her own choice, as she had been on several medications in the past but none helped her. She was hospitalized last November for thoughts of suicide and it was there she experienced her first disassociated episode and has had them ever since. Can anyone shared which medication works for disassociation please? I just finished reading “ I hate you, don’t leave me” and it mentions a few drugs but I want to check this resource. If you could also explain what your episodes are like I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

Thanks for writing to us.  I am afraid I don't have experience in dealing with meds for dissociation, although I have family members who have this.  My ex husband had undiagnosed BPD and dissociative  disorder.  He would forget time and  times, one hour was the same as 2 days to him. He never got treatment for it though.
