Title: Help needed Post by: Amen33 on June 23, 2021, 06:54:57 AM My oldest child, who is 32 years old, has struggled for years. As a child we tried all different therapies and meds to help her but to no avail. She has never been diagnosed with BPD and it wasn’t until last year that we were told about BPD. Everything about BPD screams our daughter’s name. She has always struggled with anxiety and depression. Two and a half years ago she had a child. Since then everything has taken a turn for the worse. Add the pandemic to the equation and she is spiraling out of control. She has stopped all meds and therapy, asked her husband for a divorce, told her employer she will not be coming back to work at the end of summer. She has stopped talking to me, her father and sisters. We are all worried and scared for her and more importantly, our granddaughter. We all live very far away from our daughter so we are unable to support a lot of her needs.
There is so much more to tell but this is the gist of our story. Looking for some first steps and guidance. Most people here can relate to much of what you've shared.
Do you have a good relationship with your son-in-law? How much access do you have to your granddaughter? This pandemic created a pressure cooker environment for my family, for sure. Life was hard before but the pandemic made it feel like a soda can that was shaken up. It's so hard to stay calm and steady when others are really falling apart and hurting themselves and others. What do you need? How can we help? |
