Title: Scared to leave young kids with my BPD spouse Post by: gloam on July 12, 2021, 10:15:41 AM So, my wife has BPD, and in denial about it. I'm not sure what to do about our marriage, but I don't feel that I have many options, as I'm afraid to leave our young children with her. I'm growing more concerned about the long term affects that marinating in the stress is having on my health, but those concerns are matched by the wanting to leave my kids without a safety net for even half the time. In terms of divorce or separation, the metaphor that comes to mind is: kicking a hornet's nest, then locking my kids in the room with it.
Does anyone have any experience or advice? Title: Re: Scared to leave young kids with my BPD spouse Post by: GaGrl on July 12, 2021, 10:50:28 AM That's a great deal of stress to handle. Many of us have experienced similar stresses regarding children of people with a PD. (My husband stayed with his first wife for many more years than he wanted just Because of his children.)
Can you tell us a bit more about your current situation? How old are your children? What behaviors of your wife are most concerning to you? Is your wife diagnosed, and/or is she in treatment of any kind? |
