Title: Hello
Post by: Nathelle on August 27, 2021, 10:30:28 AM
Hello
My first visit. I have been married
40 years. My husband was diagnosed with schizo effective disorder in July, after spending 5 days in a pysc ward. He has already went off his meds once, I bribed him, to get him to take them again. I'm just trying to survive. Any advise?

Hi Nathelle,  :hi:

40 years is quite a long time, and I bet that even though he was recently diagnosed, maybe you have walked a long road for all those years with him. You mentioned you're just trying to survive. I'm so sorry for the pain you must surely be going through and no one who really understands. I would give you a big hug if I could. Here's a virtual one.

I don't know what to suggest about the medicine but perhaps others here will have an idea to share with you. My concern is especially for you, to help you be able to cope and navigate through your relationship with him. Can you share if you're able to do any self care and what that looks like? Who are your support people?

Looking forward to hearing more from you as you have energy to share.
