Title: A little poem for everyone that got out of a BPD relationship on their own Post by: lichtermeer on October 19, 2021, 05:39:20 PM Hello my loves,
I felt angry today for the first time (I'm usually struggling with anger), so I wrote a poem to let it all out. My native tongue is German so it doesn't really rime since it's translated, but maybe it helps to identify your feelings and to put up with the confusion that comes with the trauma bond. Since English isn't my native tongue there could be a few mistakes. I'll maybe put the poem in German below the English one later, for any German speakers if someone asks for it: I know your eyes and most of all your stare Our bonding was more than a misfortune I am affected, just as well as you are I'm not coming back but I'm also not coming to rest. How you held me on the platform How we laughed, smoked and jazzed together How you cared from the bottom of your heart How you destroyed everything because of the pain. My fear causes your rage and your rage causes my fear You're not hitting me but you're demanding my peace How you threaten me and forget about it I'm the devil you say and yet you miss me For sure I've made mistakes But the darkest shade of black is not deserved I couldn't get up and was numb I want to get to you but yet everything in me is reluctant You lied to me, you loved me I can't believe that you don't exist You were the basement of the black widow wich happened to smell like my rotten home I was sitting on the window and couldn't get out Although the door was wide open straightaway And when I then left, then you wanted me When I was there, you despited me You love me from afar but hated when I'm there My baby I'm never going back to you. I wasn't only your partner but also your parents In fact I was everyone that hurt you, collected in a jar of glass Please forgive me, but I have to leave you, too Otherwise I'm going to miss out on my whole life. I want to hear anything from you but its so loud inside of me I don't want to see you but you saw right through me The softest soft and the roughest rough and in the middle of the chaos you, the rubble woman. BTW...don't worry about struggling with anger. Anger is not bad if you learn to use it and not let it control you. Anger is a phenomenal motivator. For example, look at this masterpiece you presented here to the forum. I say embrace the energy it provides and let it spur you onto change for the better. Thank you, Cheers and best wishes! -SC- Title: Re: A little poem for everyone that got out of a BPD relationship on their own Post by: Newdawnnewday on October 20, 2021, 12:06:26 PM I would very much like to see the German version also, even though I don't speak German, I am very sensitive to rhythm and tone and I would be curious to see a few of the verses which resonated so deeply with me, in German.

My favourite line was: "I wasn't only your partner but also your parents In fact I was everyone that hurt you, collected in a jar of glass" Der Deutsche Version würde mich auch interessieren... aber deine Übersetzung ist auch sehr gut! Day by day it's different. Sometimes I'm so mad and then again I miss her like crazy. It truly is like an addiction and something I never imagined I had to go through. But to disown the feeling of anger just turns into anxiety or other emotional ventils, that tend to be toxic as well. I definitely got to work on that. Thank you for reading and your kind words to anyone by the way, it really meant a lot to me! Wow. To me it sounds like you had the 'acting out' borderline, like from the crazy car episode. I had the 'acting in' borderline. A volcano suddenly erupting, like a hit and run attack.I like the perspective and strength you are able to take in the poem, basically saying 'I need to leave now, in order to live'. I understand completely how you feel. My ex gf is from the capital and I used to love that city, I still do but every time someone mentions that city as an option for moving, someone visits from there or someone goes there for vacation, I just wanna run and cry. It's okay to feel that way, it's a highly traumatic experience that takes so much work and patience and of course you're gonna connect obvious traits from that person, which caused trauma, to those traits in general. I hope that you can find a new beautiful connection to Germany or a German person in general which or who brings you truly joy, and if my poem brought you a bit of that joy, then I'm more than happy. I think you should definitely post your poem! This group is so supportive and there's not a doubt that your poem isn't moving and beautiful, if it's from the bottom of your heart and emotions. I'd love to hear it, text me if you decide to upload it! Title: Re: A little poem for everyone that got out of a BPD relationship on their own Post by: poppy2 on October 22, 2021, 08:22:33 AM Hey lichtermeer,
Yeah, especially when the person is connected with a place, then it's hard. But I can also say that many of those connections fade over time, which is a big relief (I am 5 months since being 'discarded') . So I can assure you that at some point you can think of the city without running and crying  For instance, I can now look at the moon again and not feel crushed (my ex loved the moon). I already posted the poem, actually! it was my only way of expressing the way my ex hurt me. Here is the link: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=350696.0 Best wishes to you poppy |
