Title: BPD Post by: Danby13 on October 29, 2021, 02:02:14 PM I'm new to this as my adult daughter has recently been diagnosed with BPD.
It's heartbreaking to see her in the pain and to see results of her self harming and her being in crisis. She is verbally abusive towards me and the hateful hurtful things she says I understand are not her but it doesn't make it sting any less. I've been researching BPD to get a better understanding of it and how to possibly communicate better with her and to try and lessen her triggers. She currently is in hospital and I'm hoping that she will get the medications that will help currently she is only on an antidepressant but feel she should also be on an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer. As she is an adult the doctors do not have to divulge anything to me and she has not given her permission for them to keep me in the loop. She's been multiple times to ERs due to her having a meltdown I would love to hear from other mothers who are experiencing same and perhaps some advice and support would be very appreciated. You are not alone . Welcome . When dealing with adult BPD kids, the best thing to do is what you are starting to do - form your own network and read up on BPD. It is also important for us to know we need to care for ourselves as much as we care for our BPD kids. Does your daughter live with you? So glad that your daughter is getting help . Please write back as you are able. |
