Title: PNES and BPD
Post by: khibomsis on November 12, 2021, 03:16:08 AM
Just when I thought I had seen it all. Does anybody here have any experience with Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures (PNES)? It is supposed to be associated with BPD but I never heard of it until it decided to associate...

Tried sending you a PM but it says your mailbox is full (not a great feature, I'm such a critic of our closed-source forum software here, lol). Hit me up when I can PM you again.

Thank you so much Pearls! I  appreciate you. :wee: I have cleared out my mailbox.
I would be happy to discuss it on the boards so the next one who needs it will find the info. What do you think?
Am definitely not going to get into politics. But would you believe I found something that relates an increase in PNES to CoVID and vaccinations? No verification but it's early days. Makes sense in a wierd way but in short it may be likely that info will be needed by others.

:caution: : Totally newbie opinion of mine

I mean at its basic, if it's a typical case of "outward manifestation of internal turmoil" then it would make sense that lockdowns and fearmongering (by both sides) would drastically increase anxiety, thus increasing symptoms. If you mean in a non-environmental, non-endocrinological way, then I'd have even less of a qualified opinion because I wouldn't entirely understand the connection you're drawing without learning more details :)

Exactly Pearls! That made perfect sense to me also. Thanks forthe literature :wee: I think I'll do a short summary and post it in the community built knowledge base. Should any poor soul pass this way seeking information.

Yup, should ideally link to the two PDFs if you're able as well (though I don't think my link will survive very long) - it's an interesting subject with seemingly all the material being written by PNES researchers who notice the BPD correlation, not vice versa.

Ah thank you,  Pearls, for that insight, that explains a lot! Indeed I will include the references as well as what I an dig up.
