Title: pwBPD cannot give what they don't have
Post by: BigOof on January 13, 2022, 07:20:40 PM
From Understanding the Borderline Mother, Christine says in reference to trust and a stable sense of self, BPDs "cannot give what they do not have."

What other qualities does a pwBPD lack you think they have a hard time teaching their children?

They make up for what they don’t have with what they do have: the power to manipulate and control due to extreme maternal separation anxiety. I just learned that there is a term for this: Parental psychological control.

Here are two studies on the negative impact that parental psychological control has on adolescents:

Edited to correct second link.

Couscous, your response is so funny because there's a lot of truth in it.
