I just pulled abruptly pulled my daughter from a Utah residential facility she had been in since August due abuse and poor program. Now it’s been two weeks and running onto road blocks  trying to find a bed but to trusting the level of care. I myself have BP1, BOD a the list goes on. My two other kids also gave anxiety, ocd, and PTSD so the family therapy and communication is extremely for us! Thanks in advance for welcoming me you your tribe and your help&support! Quick admissions is essential since being in limbo has little sustainability

We are located in NJ willing to go anywhere that can provide her the foundation and skills she needs but would love her to be as close as possible of course!

I believe Dr Aguirre works at McLean on the east coast, so if you're in NJ definitely contact them. Even if the program isn't a good fit or is full, you can ask "so where would you recommend for my child, given that X program in Utah was a failure -- we need a bed ASAP". My hope would be they'd understand the urgency and have some professional networking contacts with other programs.

It makes all the sense in the world that being in limbo is the worst when a child is suffering with BPD.

I posted on one of the threads linked. I am also looking for recommendations. The threads that have the most detailed information look to be from 2016. Anyone have any experience with RTC's in the last couple of years?

If you don't mind sharing, which place in Utah didn't work out?

Another thought hit me; does she have any other diagnoses beside BPD? Eating disorder, substance abuse...?

You could consider getting her residential/inpatient treatment under another diagnosis, if that would be faster and it's a well-regarded program. It's possible that just getting her in a bed and stabilized, though for another issue, could be a good start as you wait for a BPD specific program to open up. I've also heard that substance abuse is a huge deal and it's hard to work on anything else while that's going on (of course, not saying that's what she's dealing with; more commenting that working on other diagnoses wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to stabilize her).
