However, JD has apparently claimed that AH has BPD. I'm not saying we should comment on this. But since the trial is current and being broadcast it might be interesting to watch it. I know I am!

I don’t know anything about these people except out of some sad curiosity I followed the link on the other thread.  But there was this lead to another audio that was more disturbing, where JD was begging AH to “cut him” while he held a knife.  (I actually read an article authenticating the audio.)  And she was begging him not to do it.  He wanted to make the pain go away.

So there we are...

I don't think anyone really knows a celebrity, but have seen JD in many productions and TV shows.

What I found interesting is the revelation that his mother was abusive, so there were dysfunctional dynamics in his family of origin and we know that has an impact on future relationships.

I began to hear the tape of her being critical of him for now allowing her to abuse him. It was hard to listen to that. But it wouldn't surprise me if the dysfunction involved them both.

And now, it's all being made public, sadly for both of them.

I also know little about these people or the case. But being in a relationship with a pwbpd can certainly test your sanity to the limit. I have struggled with mental health issues in the past. Particularly in the first couple of years of my relationship with my wife, I was sucked into disordered eating patterns, thoughts of suicide and occasional self harm. I know that it’s common for pwbpd to accuse others of having the disorder. But I think in my case I may have actually met the criteria, and I do feel I was driven to it by this relationship. I was very unstable as a teenager, but this was 15 years later.

I know I did some crazy  :cursing: in my first marriage, so no stones cast from me. However, that one recording seems to point to her as the abuser. That said, she accuses him of bad behavior when he was drunk or on drugs. That seems plausible too.

It takes two to tango.

I think that particular recording could be interpreted in a dozen different ways.

But why was she recording him? A spouse recording their pwBPD is par for the course (from what I've read on this forum!) but not the other way around.

PwBPD have and can record things on non-BPD as well. And they also "keep everything" as proof of the hurt and pain: emails, texts... I don't see why they wouldn't record discussions. Non-BPD do it too to make sure they aren't crazy...

So I'm unsure this can be used as proof that one is BPD and not the other.

Both could be NPD for all we know, or one NPD and the other BPD... They are known to attract each other and I mean : it is Hollywood !

I agree that this doesn’t particularly point to either one of them having bpd. But my dbpdw is far too impulsive to keep anything for very long… she loves deleting messages etc.

Mine too. Media content of all sorts makes her anxious on many levels.
