Title: Tiny steps forward
Post by: khibomsis on May 08, 2022, 01:50:09 PM
Had family staying for the weekend and youngest siblings girl started a dysregulation. The child is four years old so I wasn't panicking, heck appreciate the opportunity to see BPD in a stage of life where it is natural and normal. But middle siblings boy came up and his parents said:" O, she has what son has". And in that instant was born a mentoring relationship :" this works for me, maybe try this". 4 year old got all the attention she needed from cousins. I heaved a sigh of relief. So now there is this thing, it is a family thing, nobody is trying to pretend it is any different then what it is. The gaslighting is gone. Thank you BPD family! As I heard this still, small snap of intergenerational cycles breaking it was the sound of grace.  :wee:

Hi khibomsis and thank you for the post. It is  really interesting that your family are able to communicate and support each other in this challenge.

Well done!
