Hi. It is a very common concern of those of us here. Some of us even pick up tendencies form our ex-pwBPD known as fleas. I am not a therapist, but the fact that you are concerned enough to pose the question suggests you likely do not suffer from BPD. You likely are a victim of emotional abuse and projection.

Others here will likely give you more reassurance. My suggestion would be perhaps consulting a therapist to help you during the healing process. A relationship with a pw-BPD can affect one's mental health / emotional stability in a major way.

Hang in there.

Not being psychologists, most of us here are by way of the armchair. It's a natural thing to think such about ourselves, yet BPD is a professional Dx. That being said, we can pick up traits given the difficulty in these relationships. Additionally, a lot of us may come from disordered homes and be attracted to pwBPD. I had/have traits from my dBPD mother, but I'm not BPD.

I think it's Borderline Personality Disorder, but how can I know? (https://bpdfamily.com/content/what-borderline-personality-disorder)

So yes, it's common to think that, armchair diagnosing ourselves. I argued with my therapist, but he assured me I wasn't yet diagnosed me with something like situational anxiety, and yes, I thought that was a lot from Projection. I was sent to therapy after all to get "fixed."

If you struggle with this, how might you proceed, do you think?
