Title: Has anyone else seen the movie "On the Count of Three"?
Post by: beatricex on August 20, 2022, 01:01:56 PM
I have been waiting for Jerrod Carmichael's movie to come out and it did last Wednesday.  I watched it with an open mind knowing it was about a double suicide pact two friends make.

I'm not sure it was "funny" as the director and costar himself described it, but it did give me some insight into how our younger generation likely thinks and feels about mental health as it relates to the social media world they now live in and can't escape.

"DBT" and therapy are a theme, obviously.

Curious to read other's thoughts if you've seen the movie.

On the theme of movies about Next Gens (defined as millennial or younger) and mental health, I would also like to see Bodies Bodies Bodies for more insight.

Maybe this is just me but this younger generation seems to have more personality disorders, experience more estrangement, and struggle more because social media persists.  When I was this age, if I messed up, it was forgotten.  Now kids get bullied online and it persists.  As mental health topics and terms like "I'm Triggered!" get used more in movies, it raises awareness and makes me feel less alone as a step parent currently estranged from my sBPD stepdaughter and her children, my grandkids.

Does anyone else relate to this?  Maybe I'm the only one who's curious.
