Title: Lying to provoke jealousy or action? Post by: Silverdash on August 25, 2022, 10:14:51 AM QBpD has told a number big lies and exaggerations. Which were easy to discover as being untrue. Why? Is this type of behavior meant to provoke jealousy? Is it to provoke action from me? To make me chase or prove I like him? He ended things with me and I have been happy to be friends. But because I have a primary partner I dont feel jealous when he tells me things which seemed intended to provoke me.
Examples: he told me he was moving across the world for work. I was happy for him. Days later he changed his mind and is staying. Other time he said he is moving to another continent with his new gf. Again I was happy for him. Weeks l8r I asked how his plans were going for moving to the ldr gf...yeah he changed his mind. Is this a behavior other pw QBpD exhibit? Do they like to make exes jealous? Why? Title: Re: Lying to provoke jealousy or action? Post by: Manic Miner on August 25, 2022, 11:23:58 AM IMO, yes, they do.
They are probing to see how you will react. And if you shrug it off, they lose interest and move on, abandoning the whole idea. Or just check 'passed' in their book. Until next time. It doesn't need to be just jealousy. For example, years ago my wife once lied about her own condition, told me she had something suspicious that needed medical attention (in the past she did and turned out false - all was good!). I felt sad and instantly afraid. Turned out she made that up to control me and get a caring response, because we were arguing about something. |
