Title: Just dropped daughter at an inpatient facility Post by: OzAndy on September 09, 2022, 05:22:49 AM First time for everything! Never thought I'd be leaving my daughter in a pysch hospital. I'm devastated and not sure it's the right thing. Would love to talk to someone who might have been through this before.

Slowly I started to realize this was a good thing, good for her, to be getting the help she needed. How is your daughter doing? I'm here to answer any questions/offer support if you need it. Hang in there, it does get better.
Title: Re: Just dropped daughter at an inpatient facility Post by: KBug on September 20, 2022, 08:22:58 PM I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this. Big hugs! It sounds like you are helping her to get the help that she needs. To paraphrase the co-dependency people: You didn't cause the BPD, you can't control it, and you can't cure it. Outside help is invaluable.
I hope that you are also getting some help. A good therapist who understands BPD can help you to understand how to support her as well as to take care of yourself. It's difficult to help her if you aren't in a good place yourself. Are there some specific topics that you would like to discuss? |
