Title: Realization that my son exhibits BPD traits Post by: Elizabeth Ann on September 24, 2022, 03:05:13 PM I have recently come the realization that my 37 year old son has been exhibiting BDP traits since adolescence. The last few years have been strained. We live 2 hours apart and we see each other less and less but when we do talk its more volatile than ever. I miss my grandchildren very much and I miss my son from when he is not under stress and acts "normal". I have recently read "Stop Walking on Eggshells" and "The Essential Family Guide to BPD". At first I felt relieved to know that there is actually something wrong and that I am not going crazy, but now that the realization is sinking in, I am feeling grief and anger about the whole thing. I am worried for the well being of my grandchildren. I have found a therapist who I believe understands BPD and I am hopeful that I will at least get the help and support that I need and maybe even encourage my son to get help.

Our adult son has uBPD, also. We do go through a grief stage. I’m glad you’re seeking counseling; it is a less lonely road, that way. |
