Title: Watch out for the love bombing
Post by: Couscous on November 17, 2022, 01:29:00 AM
So I had no idea that the behaviors mentioned in this video were forms of love bombing. I now suspect that any “loving” behavior that my sister and both of my parents have ever engaged in has in fact been love bombing. I think I can safely assume that there have been strings attached even to a cup of tea made for me by my mother…

Interesting-  I don't recall that my mother has even made me a cup of tea since I was old enough to make my own food/drink.

"Love bombing" behaviors are infrequent- and so they seem so obviously fake. Mostly it's complements but it's rare that she would do that.

She has sent overly generous gifts to my children but she has hardly ever given me a gift as an adult- not for birthdays, or graduation. We did get holiday presents and birthday presents when I was a child.

The video mentions feeling guilty but if she love bombs me, it mostly feels strange because it's not her usual behavior towards me.
