Title: Saw my ex with my ex best friend replacement at the movies
Post by: Tupla Sport on November 17, 2022, 01:47:49 PM
Yeah. A goddamn gut punch. Around two months NC, therapy and getting my life together. I knew the risk when I booked the tickets to the movie festival. I knew she was going to see some movies there.

I'm going to survive. I'm already getting around. But it stings, man.

I wouldn't mind reading some supportive comments though. Not looking for tough love, I just want my people telling me they're going to crash and burn.

Hello friend x

Your ex best friend is about to get his worst nightmare ever probably very soon!

It's been over 2 months for me and I have started enjoying my peace. No more walking on eggshells, no more thinking "what mood is he going to be in today?", no more stressing about what to say and do and how to say and do it so he doesn't get mad.

You will get there!
Your ex (like most of BPD exes) will be turning others lives into hell. She won't change (unless she puts all her efforts into it) and she won't be in a stable relationship unless she starts to date someone without brain, eyes and ears.

You deserve better person than her. And your ex best friend deserves exactly what he has now (and what is about to come).

Thank you.

He looked as sheepish as ever. An automaton in thrall to her. A golem. A slave.

He is probably paying for the tix. She is in debt, unemployed and constantly shopping, even if at thrift shops. I'm single, just got a well-paying job and am getting to know new people in my life. Not weaseling my way into anyone's lives.

He's worked so hard the past few years. He lashed out as his ex with BPD a couple years back and started looking for a therapist. Kept single for the longest patch ever. And now he's shackled to her whims and devices.

He didn't learn much then.
I know that "never say never" but I'm pretty sure I will NEVER miss so many, so important red flags anymore.

Congratulations on your job and keep working hard for yourself. Keep meeting new people as this is a great opportunity to forget about your old life.

I have recently started so many activities that I'm to tired to think about my ex constantly. I never thought I can become such a sport's fan lol. Maybe I should thank him  :)

Saw them again there today, twice.

The energy was so weird again. He looked like a bodyguard on duty. She looked like she was on the prowl.

Any way to avoid them? If not perhaps seeing them will speed up the process of making you numb to it to where you will be more unaffected and just not give much of a S :cursing:.

Just keep your head up and keep moving forward...no regression allowed because regression is never a good thing.

Cheers and best wishes!

They may crash and burn, or think about what my T said: "personalities at that age typically don't change." So good luck to him.

Well the movie festival is only in town this week. I might run into them in similar events but I don't really want to plan my life with that in mind.

The timing was bad as I'm under a lot of work-related stress and been running on not enough sleep and going to movies three times after work this week. I also made the conscious decision to go to the festival alone and while it has its benefits for my well-being, it did leave me more vulnerable in the spot. I'm glad they could see me alone in there but I would have probably felt more confident with a date or a friend. Then again, processing the emotions of seeing them would have been a challenge with someone around.
