Title: forgive me. invalidation was delicious
Post by: zondolit on June 26, 2023, 03:22:54 PM
With thanks (and apologies!) to William Carlos Williams

This Is Just To Say

I said
“I’m not
cruel”

when you said
I was

forgive me
invalidation was delicious
so sweet
and so true

This is just wonderful, what you did here.  True poetry therapy.  Thank you for sharing—for me, this validation was delicious.

This helped me process through some things. Thank you. A short  and very amateur response based on my experience:

“Are you going
to leave?”
She said in early days

“Of course
not”
I said back then

You made your fears
Real.
There was no
Choice.

I learned that
truth
can be made
False

Your lies
taught me the
Truth

I'm glad my poem resonated!

grootyoda, your poem gets at that most confounding aspect of BPD that we have all experienced but have difficulty wrapping our mind around or trying to explain to others.
