Title: I am so lost
Post by: Jjjj210010 on January 08, 2024, 11:30:03 PM
My wife says she has been tested for BPD- but doesn't have it. But she sure has the signs. While I'm not a doctor...something isn't right. And I'm really not sure what to do.

We are in a manic phase (I guess I'd call it that). She also says she isn't bipolar.

But everything I read says she's BPD. I'm at a loss.

Hi and welcome :hi:

Can you share some recent situations that make you think that?

Check out the Tips menu at the top of the page for good info.

Jjjj210010,

*welcome*

We are here to listen to you and support you emotionally.

If you want a lay-person's assessment tool, Randi Kreger's book "Stop Walking on Eggshells: Taking Your Life Back When Someone You Care About Has Borderline Personality Disorder", 3rd edition is an excellent resource to help you figure this out.

Also, see if she has 5 or more of the symptoms at a disordered level at https://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/psychiatric-disorders/personality-disorders/borderline-personality-disorder-bpd#v25246812

With all of this stress, please be kind to yourself, and do self-care so you have enough energy to navigate this emotionally.

Take care.
