Title: My Daughter’s breakup Post by: Bunnybot on April 04, 2024, 12:05:28 PM Hello,
New here. Nervous about posting. Desperate for help. I have a 25 yr old daughter with BPD. She was diagnosed by a professional who she is no longer seeing; I forget why. She still lives at home with us because we live in California and it’s hard to get out on your own here without multiple roommates. She is in the middle of a breakup that is going very badly. Literally jumped to this relationship the next day from a 3 year old relationship that was ending and going terrible. Now this one is ending and she is in so much pain, she can’t deal with it and won’t stay away from him. She has said goodbye to him several times and in the middle of the night, while we’re sleeping, goes to his house and stays there for hours. I feel like it’s to the point of having to sleep in her room with her. She has no friends to help her get through this so it’s just her dad and I and we’re trying our best but are not enough. She does have one friend who doesn’t know how to deal with her BPD and says all the wrong things and is now kind of ignoring her because she’s tired of hearing about this breakup. She wants to go back to therapy, but unfortunately she’s in a health insurance transition so we are waiting on that to get rectified and it’s just terrible timing in regards to that. Without that, her dad and I are struggling to help her and don’t know what else we can do for her. Thank you for any thoughts and guidance. I am sorry for the pain you are going through as you help your daughter to cope. Is it at crisis point in your opinion ? I am not sure what country you are in , but is there a mental health crisis intervention team you can call/ would your daughter be amenable to talking to them? Please keep us posted. |
