Title: What helpful tips have other family members given you ?
Post by: HappyChappy on July 05, 2024, 07:05:17 PM
I was lucky to have a father that decided not to divorce because, in his words:

"Back then men couldn't get custody, so I had to stay married".

My son said the other day "He was the only Grandparent that helped us out. But your Mum never worked, avoided housework and controlled all Grandad's money. Now she's saying we're all ungrateful for .... what ? For not letting her manipulate us ?"  lol

I've learnt a lot from my kids, this going back to the "Good old days" rubbish may suit a BPD mum who ruled the roost using good old fashioned manipulation, but not those of us that were scapegoated or experienced other kinds of prejudice.

What healthy progressive things have you learned from family members, young and old ?
