Not yet a partner...a new friend where we both admitted to having feelings. After getting really emotionally close and then her causing arguments about my ex, she discarded me for almost a week, ignoring most my messages and then replying to one in a very stilted way. Today I checked in with her as she said she had been unwell - she seemed a lot more natural (still not warm) and said she had been so unwell she nearly went to the emergency room as she thought she was dying! Very dramatic...and I'm not sure it's true. Questions: a) Does physical illness affect mental state (if it WERE true she has been really unwell)? b) Is it possible the "illness" was mental and she is saying it was physical as she doesn't feel ready to trust me with any concept of mental illness? When I asked her what was wrong she said she will tell me when she is fully better...buying more time? Why not just tell me now? All very bizarre. What are the possibilities here? Post by: Truvada on August 04, 2024, 04:50:05 AM BPD is steeped in PTSD hence there’s a book out titled “The body keeps the score” which is all about how the body is literally effected by the condition of the PTSD sufferer’s mind or rather feelings at the time.
Anyway since you just met her practically anything is possible concerning her at this early stage. Alternatively for example she may have BPD Lite a.k.a Histrionic Personality Disorder whereby she might invent tall tales about harrowing health woes and other dramatic incidents concerning her to get you all wound up and emotionally invested in her and feeling sorry for her so she can get her attention needs met since that’s basically the core goal of every histrionic ie obtaining your attention by any means necessary. |
