Title: Foul Language Driving Me Crazy Post by: Sammy Jo on August 27, 2024, 09:15:19 AM I know there are more important things I could write about: failure to launch, wrecking her car over and over, verbal abuse etc., etc., etc. But - the cursing is driving me crazy. My 22-year-old BPD daughter thinks absolutely nothing of calling me every name in the book. The response I get, without fail, is "I haven't taken my afternoon meds," or "My meds haven't kicked in." Well, this Mama doesn't give a rat's patootie. While I am by no means a goodie two shoes, she was not raised to call me the names she does or her father. My usual reaction is to block her for a few days. She always tells me that I'm overreacting or everyone curses and to lighten up. I tell her it makes her look cheap or to save her bullets for when she needs them:)
Any similar experiences or advice:) Title: Re: Foul Language Driving Me Crazy Post by: kells76 on August 27, 2024, 10:49:30 AM Hi Sammy Jo;
If I'm remembering correctly, your D22 doesn't live at home? When she curses you, is that over text, phone call, email... some other way? Has the cursing seemed to increase over time? decrease? stay the same? Title: Re: Foul Language Driving Me Crazy Post by: Sammy Jo on August 27, 2024, 11:17:06 AM No, she does not live at home. It is predominately over the phone. If she has stopped by to pick up a package or see us for some reason, it can happen at home, but 90% of the time, it is over the phone or by text.
