Book Description
Adults think of childhood as a carefree time, but the truth is that children worry, and worry a lot, especially in our highly pressurized era. This book addresses children's worries with humor and imagination, as hilarious scenarios teach kids the use of perspective and the art of creative problem-solving.

About the Author
Ferida Wolff was both yoga student and teacher for almost thirty years. She studied Kabbalah and Buddhism, has a M.S. in Education, and a certificate in Holistic Studies. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Woman.

My granddaughter, age 7, loved this book. It so matched her fears, especially at bedtime. She shared with me that her ‘worry monsters’ are a vampire and wolf that are trying to EAT HER. Yikes. I am so grateful for this book to open the way for us to talk about her fears.

The book offers many different scenarios of common worries with children. Such as getting into the cookie jar, worry thinking from seemingly nowhere, bedtime, TV, first day of school, friends, loud & scary adults especially relatives come to visit, etc. It talks about how worries can make you feel in your body – tired, sad, sick, heavy, hopless. Then it gives ways to defuse the worried thinking with lots and lots of strategies.

I think this will become a regular part of our bedtime routine. All young children can benefit from reading this book.

My 6yr old granddaughter has rejected this book at the moment as she thinks the pictures are quite scary!

My gd7 read it several days in a row, left it for weeks, and now ways it is too scary. It is on her bookshelf if she chooses later. qcr
