Title: Anyone familiar with Bessel van der Kolk's work?
Post by: MissyM on October 12, 2014, 06:07:00 PM
I have a friend in one of my recovery groups that is a recovered BPD and her husband is a recovered NPD.  They have done some really ground breaking therapy together.  Anyone familiar with Van Der Kolk's work?  She recommended I start there and gave me some names for couples work that helps in healing trauma and attachment.  I have found his lectures on you tube fascinating.

I really like that kind of approach and I have found it very helpful in understanding myself and my reactions and what my needs are. Also, understanding the same for my husband. His therapist is trained in that style of therapy which has been excellent. Janina Fisher is a great therapist with some good youtube video's if you are interested in that genre of therapy.
