I am terrified. If he gave me something, I hope it's something that can be treated. I don't want him to leave a trace on my body. The trace he left on my soul is enough. One week to go until I know. But it has to be done for peace of mind and to help us to realise that your ex was not so 'special' after all and to move on... . That's how little faith I have in the tales my ex told about his sexual history and drug use.
This topic brings up a question that has been on my mind recently. I'm not sure that it's an appropriate question for the leaving board so if the moderators feel the question belongs elsewhere, please let me know. I'm not sexually active/involved with anyone. When I get to that place in my life again I plan to implement safe sex. Following my BPDex experience (he cheated) how does one trust another with one's sexual health? That worries me. Anyone else with those concerns? I've been also thinking about ways to safeguard my health in my next r/s. I'm not sure that I can trust someone enough now to not practice safe sex. Thoughts? Good for you for doing self-care. Keep a positive attitude regardless of the outcome and you will have the best results possible! My soon to be ex uBPDwife gave me "parting gift" STI. Luckily my doctor ran a full panel screen on me when I happened to go in for a regular physical and I told him about her cheating on me. I was too stressed out and full of anxiety to even think to ask for an STI check. And I'm glad my doc did because I ended up having a very annoying, but easily curable case. Best of luck to ya! As much as I try not to think about it, it stays in the back of my mind. I don't know how to handle it either if I find out I have someting. In regards to my exBPDbf... .Final b/u was June 3rd, we've been total NC for 12 days. I don't want to talk to him, hear from him or see him. NC is the best thing for me. Normal thing to do in these situations is tell the person she has a STD and gave it to us so that he does not continue to give it to other people. With a BPDex, it's so not a normal situation, I have no idea what to do... .Any suggestions? How did you/would you deal with it? I will definitely ask for this person to get tested. I don't want to ever feel this fear again. But from my understanding, the percent of people in the USA with STDs are quite low compared to other countries. I am quite sure everything will be OK.
I am also an anxious person so while I was waiting for my test results, my head started with the "what ifs" which is just unproductive worry.
