Post by: SleepingBeauty17 on June 21, 2016, 04:25:45 PM
My ex has eupd, and we have a 4 year old son together. Would love any advise on how to support my child (particulary when he doesnt see my child for months whilst depressed) and how to keep my son as free from psychological harm as possible! Thanks

HI SleepingBeauty17

Welcome to BPD Family

So sorry that your ex has EUPD (aka BPD).  Depression can be  tough to manage.  Do you know if your ex takes some meds for depression and/or is in therapy at the current time?  It can be easy to just be a hermit, while in the state of depression, and not want to come out, be active and socialize.  Does your ex have any pattern with his depression (i.e. Seasonal Depression in the Winter)?

What EUPD behaviors, that your ex exhibits, concern you the most (other than the depression)?

What are the provisions for your ex's visitations?

We would like to help you gather the necessary tools to keep your son safe and free from harm.  The links below lead to some information that you might find helpful:

What does your son day when dad is absent for so long?  What's the visitation like?

It's really sad when you face such sitaution and you have a responsibility on your shoulder. I can only say that, try to be with your son as much as possible, because in such situation kids are mostly affected. As far as working hours are concerned, you can ask your friends or relatives to support you.
