Title: Wife with suspected BPD. Developmentally delayed child of 16
Post by: erdoc717 on March 20, 2017, 01:12:59 PM
I have been married for 20 years to a very volatile partner who probably has BPD.  We have a developmentally delayed girl who is 16 years.  I would have been gone long ago with the recurrent abuse, withdrawal, tantrums, threats and, at times, physical abuse.  Help.

*welcome*

I'm glad you have found us and I'm sorry you are having such a hard time in your relationship.  You have a lot of responsibilities to manage... I'm sure that is stressful.

You have found a safe place to share, learn... .and even "vent" when needed.

We understand what it is like to live with someone that is so nice... .and then turns your world upside down... .many times blaming you for what they do... . very frustrating.

Can you give us an example of a recent issue you had?  If you can do "he said she said"... .that would be very helpful... and get you pointed in the right direction.

Have either of you ever been in therapy?  Any marital counseling ever?
