Title: Is it reasonable...
Post by: mssalty on April 21, 2017, 08:31:02 AM
To expect someone to understand that you sometimes get angry, frustrated, and upset, and it may be over trivial matters?    Is it reasonable to expect that they also recognize that you aren't always this way, and that words like "YOU ALWAYS" and "YOU NEVER" cut deeply when they aren't true?

Yes it is very reasonable, but when dealing with BPD the only thing they see is themselves and their feelings. Yours really don't count. "Reasonable" doesn't really exist. I try and try, and am learning to stop trying to reason as my bf can't see reason when he is triggered over something, anything. And that creates a situation where I am sucked into JADE-ing in my efforts to "reason" with him. It just doesn't work.
Thank heavens for this forum. I would think I was going crazy.
