Title: Recommended Residential facility for BPD
Post by: Andy22 on November 17, 2017, 09:04:30 AM
Hello,
My adult daughter has all the signs of BPD and we are trying to find a residential treatment facility. She has expressed the need for help. Any recommendations?

I have heard many good things about McLean Hospital in Boston. They are the premier institution for BPD, I believe. (voluntary only)

You could also contact an educational counselor. They should know about places as well.

Look at this website: NATSAP (national association for therapeutic schools and programs)

good thing is that your daughter wants to get help. There are much better options that way.

Good luck

Hi Andy22

I join Blaublau, welcome to you. I'm in the UK, it's been a challenge for us too, we were very, very fortunate living in our capital city 2 years ago, now the services are gone, everywhere. So that is now my focus. Also searching on line DBT, my DD is reaching out to good communities who understand.

For other recommendations you might consider contacting the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI):
NAMI | Find Support (https://www.nami.org/Find-Support)

My daughter is 29, completed 14 months of out patients DBT this September, how old is your daughter, wondering what is her/your journey right now?

As we learn here, sharing our journey, helps us all.
