Title: Mother with BPD
Post by: LukeSkywalker on November 19, 2017, 09:56:17 PM
I just learned that my mother has BPD. I've always known that something was wrong, but I didn't have an explanation until now. I'm the only person in my family who knows and I'm not planning on sharing this information yet.

It is such a relief to understand why she acts the way she does, but I'm also recalling some of the traumatic events that have happened in the past as I learn more about BPD and think about how these crazy things weren't random, but very characteristic of BPD.

I'm an adult who no longer lives with my mother who has BPD. She would like to live with me, but I know that this would not be healthy for me. I repeatedly tell her no, which always gets a big negative reaction.

I'm happy to have a community as I learn more about BPD.

Was she diagnosed? How did you learn?

We can certainly support you here.   :)
