Title: My FIL, acting on behalf of my STBX, didn't reveal all assets in the prenup
Post by: toomanydogs on November 04, 2018, 10:38:04 AM
I'm just realizing that my FIL, acting on behalf of my STBX, didn't reveal all assets in the prenup.

I'm guessing that might be the reason FIL is not too keen on discovery.

My gf’s exH took jewelry’ back from her, he tried to put the house under a family members name during their divorce it, there was a child involved don’t you want to leave it for the kids at least?

It has to be frustrating for you that there were hidden assets? Regardless if he’s keen on it or not they could have chosen to disclose those assets but they didn’t.

Hey TMD,

This would be exactly the reason to double the pressure for discovery.

Getting a good divorce settlement is one thing.  Proving that a public figure engage in fraud is another.

Many things outside of court proceedings are "sworn" and carry penalties of perjury... which moves things from civil to criminal.

You may never get the discovery... .my hope for you is that if it comes to that... you get a much larger settlement as "payment" for not dragging him through this.

Talk to your attorney to see how you can use it for leverage. Also, as a strategy, NEVER reveal what you know until you absolutely have to.
