Title: My 24 yo Daughter has BPD
Post by: bijou321 on January 14, 2019, 07:48:03 PM
Hello there,
I'm new to the group. What brought me here is I have a 24 yo Daughter with BPD. She lives with me and the emotional rollercoaster etc. is stressful for me. I want to converse with other people who are living with the same situation with a family member.

Hi and welcome to the board.  I am glad you reached out here as we have a lot of parents who have adult children (and younger) with BPD and we can support you.

What are the most problematic behaviors your daughter exhibits?  Is she in treatment?  What about you?  Other than here, what sort of support system do you have in place?

I hope you settle in and read and feel free to jump in and participate in other threads.  We have a lot to share and so many can relate to the struggles of having a child with BPD.  We also have a lot of articles you can read.  Check out the How to get the most out of this site (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=331689.0) thread tacked to the top of this page.

Again, welcome!   :hi:

Hi bijou321  :hi:

I join Harri in welcoming you to BPD Family

You've found a safe, supportive, judgment-free zone on the internet, a place to vent, learn, get and give support.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome bijou321 -there are heaps of good materials here to help with these problems and many kind people to vent to and share with! Finding people who have had similar experiences and know exactly what you're talking about is a huge relief.

I'm a newbie to all this but I've been reading "The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder: New Tools and Techniques to Stop Walking on Eggshells". I found it very helpful with lots of practical advice.
