Title: Diagnosis Pending
Post by: Bluebird65 on June 12, 2019, 02:53:13 AM
I’m feeling really frightened and relieved all at the same, and I seem to have some answers as to why my Daughter age 23, thinks so differently to me.  Last week we had our first visit to a physiatrist, who suggested that my D May have Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, I believe is the same as BPD and since then I’ve been researching like mad, and I have to say I’ll be very surprised if the suggestion is not correct.  She ticks a majority of the boxes.

I’m looking for advice on communication.  I’m afraid of saying the wrong thing.  I’m trying to be supportive and understanding but at the same time feel I should not condone inappropriate behaviour or remarks and should be able to express my emotions if I’m upset with her.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
