Title: Psychologists treatment of bpd impulsive break up decisions
Post by: Lifeinthefastlane on November 20, 2019, 12:13:15 AM
How do psychologists react when upwpbd (but psychologist knows s/he has bpd) tells him/her that they suddenly broke up with their g/f or b/f after upwbpd finds out she(the upwbpd) has cancer or a chronic illness?

My g/f broke up with me after finding out she had cancer. (Same day she found out about cancer). She is seeing a therapist(who was once our couples therapist) and I am pretty sure the couple’s therapist knows. It would help mevto know what/how a psychologist would respond to this after the person trlls them about the cancer/breakup?

Thanks.

its very hard to say, without knowing the therapist, and their relationship to your loved one.

are you hoping that the therapist would tell her she made an impulsive mistake?

Honestly no hope for that. This is healthy for me not to be romantically involved with her, but I am t try ing to find ways in my head to bring some sense of peace. I genuinely wondered about the approach of a therapist in “helping her”?
