Title: I'm New: She is a brilliant girl, but very much struggling.

Hi everyone,
I'm new here.  My adult child (20 - soon to be 21) has BPD.  I'm just beginning to learn about this and what it means for her.  She is a brilliant girl, but very much struggling.  The already difficult transition to adulthood is very much complicated by her mental health issues.  I'm hoping to learn from everyone how best to support her.

Hi and *welcome*

I am glad you found us and are reaching out for support.  We have a lot of parents here doing the same and also learning new tools that can help them and their adult child communicate more effectively.  A big part of that is making sure you have a support network, such as here and taking care of yourself whether that is through things like meditation or learning to set boundaries for yourself while supporting your daughter.  :)

What would you say her biggest struggle is at this point?  what is yours?

Hope to hear more from you soon.

Again, welcome.
