Title: looking for coping strategies and tools to avoid triggering my sibling
Post by: Raquel on January 20, 2020, 11:40:34 AM
My sibling has not been diagnosed, and I don't foresee that happening. It has gotten harder to handle being in the same space with her in the past 10 years.  it has affected my mood, my depression. After ever conversation, regardless of whether she is in a bad way, I end up feeling extremely sad and defeated. I wish I knew how to keep things from turning ugly, and then turning them in on myself after.

Hi Raquel  :hi:- interacthing with people with BPD can be really challenging, but you have come to the right place and you are not alone!   So much of what I have learned here is that my pwBPD might not change, but I can change how I respond and that has made all the difference. Hang in there, check out the resources here, and share more when you feel ready. :)

Hi.  I am joining Spindle in saying welcome!

What sort of behaviors or issues are coming up for you with your sister?  Can you describe a particular incident and include what she says and does and what you say and do in response?  That will give us a bit more to work with so we can help you brainstorm and figure out where to begin in terms of using the resources we have here.

Hope to hear more from you.

Again *welcome*
